Peter Alexander Ustinov, (16 Nisan 1921 – 28 Mart 2004), doğum adı Peter Alexander Baron von Ustinov olan Akademi, Grammy, Altın Küre, Emmy Ödüllü İngiliz aktör ve yazar.

Ailesi

Londra, İngiltere'de doğan Ustinov'un babası Jona Baron von Ustinov Nazi rejimine karşı, İngiliz gizli servisi için çalışan Alman bir diplomattı. Babası Osmanlı İmparatorluğu'nun bir parçası olan Filistin'de bir Rus subayın ve Alman annenin oğlu olarak dünyaya geldi. Jona Baron von Ustinov, I. Dünya Savaşı'nda Alman Hava Kuvvetlerinde görev yaptıktan sonra Londra Büyükelçiliğinde çalışmaya başladı. İngiliz gizli servisi ile çalışmaya başlaması ile oğlu Peter Ustinov'un da geleceği şekillenmeye başlamıştı.

Hayatı

İngiliz okullarında eğitim gören sanatçı, 1938 yılından itibaren tiyatro oyunculuğuyla ilgilenmeye başladı. Gerçek adı yerine Peter Austin adını kullanan sanatçı, daha sonra adını kariyeri boyunca sadece Peter Ustinov şeklinde kullandı. İngilizce, Fransızca, İspanyolca, İtalyanca, Almanca ve Rusça bilen sanatçı, düşük seviyede Türkçe ve Yunanca da konuşabilmekteydi. Bu dillerin lehçelerinde de bilgi sahibiydi. Akademi Ödülü'nü Spartaküs (1960) ve Topkapı (1964) filmlerindeki rolleriyle kazandı.^[1]
