Pellorneidae, Passeriformes takımında sınıflandırılan bir kuş familyasıdır.[1][2] Boyut ve renk açısından çeşitlilik gösteren familya üyeleri yumuşak ve kabarık tüylere sahiptir ve kuyrukları gövdeleri ile ortalama olarak aynı boyda ya da daha uzundur. Tropikal bölgelerde yaşarlar.

Taksonomi ve sistematik

Pellorneidae familyası ilk olarak Fransız-Amerikan ornitolog Jean Théodore Delacour tarafından 1946'da tanımlandı.[3] Pellorneidae daha önceleri Timaliidae familyasının dört alt familyasından biriydi ancak moleküler araştırmalar sonucunda 2011 yılında familya seviyesine yükseltildi.[4][5]

Pellorneidae, Leiothrichidae ve Alcippeidae familyalarını kapsayan klad için bir kardeş taksondur.[6]
