The Sound Barrier (sh. Zvučna barijera) je britanski crno-bijeli film snimljen 1952. u režiji Davida Leana. Radnja je inspirirana stvarnim događajima, odnosno djelatnošću britanskog avio-konstruktora Geoffreya de Havillanda; njegov fiktivni ekvivalent, čiji lik tumači Ralph Richardson, nastoji dizajnirati novi mlazni avion koji bi trebao letjeti brže od zvuka, ali se njegovi piloti prilikom testova suočavaju sa zvučnom barijerom koja uzrokuje smrtonosne nesreće. Film se odlikuje zračnim scenama za koje su angažirani autentični i tada najmoderniji avioni kao De Havilland Comet, De Havilland Vampire i Supermarine Swift. Nakon premijere se zbog njega među publikom stvorilo progrešno uvjerenje da su Britanci bili prvi koji su probili zvučnu barijeru, a ne američki pilot Chuck Yeager sa svojim avionom Bell X-1 1947. godine.
