The Face upon the Barroom Floor

"The Face upon the Barroom Floor", alias "The Face on the Floor" dan "The Face on the Barroom Floor", adalah sebuah puisi yang aslinya ditulis oleh penyair John Henry Titus pada 1872. Versi berikutnya diadaptasi dari puisi Titus karya Hugh Antoine d'Arcy pada 1887 dan mula-mula diterbitkan dalam New York Dispatch.

Sejarah

Menurut d'Arcy, puisi tersebut terinspirasi dari kisah nyata yang terjadi di salon Joe Smith di Fourth Avenue dan 14th Street, Manhattan.

Adaptasi dan warisan kebudayaan

Keystone Studios memakai puisi tersebut sebagai dasar untuk film bernama sama tahun 1914 yang dibintangi oleh Charles Chaplin.
