Alex Gibney on yhdysvaltalainen Oscar-palkittu dokumenttielokuvaohjaaja ja tuottaja.

Gibneyn ohjauksia ovat muun muassa Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room (Oscar-ehdokas dokumenttielokuvien sarjassa 2005), The Human Behavior Experiments (2006), Jimi Hendrix and the Blues (2001), Taxi to the Dark Side (vuoden 2007 dokumenttielokuva -Oscarin voittaja; myös osa Yleisradion Dokumenttiprojektin kolmasulottuvuus.fi-ohjelmistoa), Casino Jack and the United States of Money (2010) ja WikiLeaksin perustajasta Julian Assangesta kertova We Steal Secrets: The Story of WikiLeaks (2013)[1]. Vuonna 2019 ilmestyi Gibneyn Elizabeth Holmesin Theranos-teknologiayhtiötä ja siihen liittyvää huijausta koskeva dokumenttielokuva The Inventor: Out for Blood in Silicon Valley.[2]

Gibney on indie-tuotantoyhtiön Jigsaw Productionsin johtaja. Hän on saanut Yale Film Studiesin palkinnon panoksestaan elokuvakulttuurille. Utne Reader -lehti sijoitti Gibneyn "25 Visionaries Who Are Changing Your World" -listalle vuonna 2010.

Gibney kirjoittaa myös Huffington Postiin.
