Victor Oscar Pacheco Mendez Born into the affluent Mendez Capellan,[1] family, owners of Grupo Vimenca,[2] Mendez embarked on his professional journey during high school when he began working within the family business.[3] Over a decade, he gained multifaceted experience in communications and logistics within Grupo Vimenca, laying a strong foundation for his entrepreneurial pursuits.Georgia, United States. With his family he moved to the Dominican Republic, where he grew up with the strong influence of his grandfather Victor Mendez Capellan,[3] who showed him the value of hard work since childhood.

Education

Pacheco completed elementary school at the Carol Morgan School in Santo Domingo. When his family returned to Georgia in 1998, he attended Riverside Military Academy[4] for middle school and high school before returning to the Dominican Republic to earn an MBA from Universidad Iberoamericana.

Professional career

In 2009, Mendez founded Panacrédito, an online lending company,marking the inception of his entrepreneurial endeavors. This venture showcased Mendez's ambition and foresight in the realm of financial services.
In 2014, Mendez, in collaboration with esteemed partners, established Grupo VOPM,[5] a leading "virtual operating model" Latin American Internet group. With development teams strategically positioned across  Cuba, and the Dominican Republic, Grupo VOPM emerged as a trailblazer in the digital domain.
In 2019, Mendez expanded his vision with the launch of Credigo,[6] a pioneering initiative dedicated to providing smartphone financing to individuals irrespective of their socio-economic background. In Central America, Mendez's efforts through Credigo are facilitated by a partnership with Credigo Americas Holdings. This partnership, which includes distinguished figures from the business sphere such as Mr. Carlos Guillermo Leon, Vice Chairman at Centro Financiero BHD, and Gisselle Rohmer, Ex-IFC Senior Investment Professional and member of the Board of Banesco Dominican Republic, underscores Mendez's commitment to collaborative solutions for financial inclusion.

Mendez has consistently championed the cause of financial inclusion throughout his career. As a founding member of ADOFINTECH [7] (Asociación Dominicana de Fintech), he has played a pivotal role in shaping policies and initiatives aimed at expanding access to financial services for underserved populations.
