MBC Networks (Pvt) Limited (MBC) MBC Networks owns and operates 5 FM Radio channels in 3 languages: ‘Sirasa FM’ – Sinhala, ‘Shakthi FM’ – Tamil, YES FM – English, ‘96.6 Legends’- English and Y-FM – a multilingual youth radio station. In addition, the News Brand News 1st provides “live” news on the hour in 3 languages throughout the day on the network and its stations.

The radio stations cater to a diverse group of listeners with contemporary music, drama, sports, current affairs and news programmes. All radio services operate 24 hours a day. In addition to on-air programmes, the stations successfully conduct outdoor entertainment, BTL activities, events, promotions and musical shows.

MBC prides itself on its state-of-the-art equipment. It has 5 on-air studios, 2 production studios (Drama and Talk) 2 editing studios in addition to the individual station facilities provided to each radio station’s production work. MBC also boasts of a main server room for the digital delivery system for playback of music and commercials, a tape library, a CD mastering room, maintenance room and the main control room. Its commercial scheduling is state-of-the-art with M-Studio from order booking to broadcast.

Use of 3G technologies for live coverage of programme feeds to the station from outside broadcasting points with the help of codec is another feat MBC performs. The system delivers high quality audio on live telephone updates – an added benefit to the listeners.

MTV/MBC has embraced new technology to further enhance its content delivery for its loyal Fan base. The Group became the first Media network in Sri Lanka to partner with the World’s most popular video sharing platform YouTube while also Partnering with Innovation leader Google for digital Ad propagation across it website network. The Group is also the market leader in Social media with a fan base of over a million users. Platforms such as Twitter and Facebook have been used to create unprecedented levels of follower interaction during Breaking news coverage and Reality show programming.

We are the most active and dynamic media network, with over 45% of the total market share in Sri Lanka across our TV and Radio channels broadcasting in 3 languages.
